Patricia C. Stewart Oliver

SHELBY -- Patricia C. Oliver, 64, of East Smiley, died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2006, at MedCentral/Shelby Hospital after a long illness.

She was born April 8, 1942 in Clearfield, Ky., the daughter of the late William C. and Leoma (Johnson) Stewart. She was a 1960 graduate of Shelby High School and attended Mansfield General Hospital School of Nursing. Patty was a former employee of Norman Straw M.D. She worked at the Shelby Y for J-teen, where she taught baton lessons and also at Carolyn Wilkinson Studios in Shelby, where she taught dance. She enjoyed outdoors especially swimming and hiking. She was particularly proud of receiving a trophy for her water skiing skills. Her hobby was writing poetry.


Patty is survived by her husband, William Hollie Oliver whom she married on Dec. 16, 1978; three daughters and spouses, Kelly and Bruce Adams of Springfield, Kimberly and Vince Raska of Springfield, and Kacey Scott of Columbus; seven grandchildren; a brother and his wife, Donald and Mary Stewart of Shelby.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Phyllis Rae Schlotterer; and her children's father, Commodore Perry Sexton Jr. She was buried in the Oakland Cemetery in Shelby.
