Guest Book for
Mary Ethel Stewart Crager

So much to remember about Aunt Ethel! Her baking will always make my mouth water.
She was wonderful to her sister Stella Martt. May God bless her for her kind
deeds and love to our dear mother Marjorie Sloan. She had the rare ability to
handle my grandfather Stanley Martt. She did it with a LOOK. We were all blessed
to meet this and love this woman.

Aunt Ethel, my maternal grandma's sister, was one of the few remaining links
to the _real_ "old days."
I will forever treasure the time I spent with her, listening to stories, some of which nobody else would tell.
Maybe the finest gift she gave was showing all of us how to go into old age with grace, humor, strength and faith.

I met her exactly three and one half years ago today, on her 90th birthday.
What a remarkable, loving woman. You who knew her as children are very lucky.

Aint Ethel, is how I have always pronounced Aunt Ethel. What I will remember
most are stories of her childhood, how short she was and her amazing cooking.
Baked goods in general. WOW! She was a dynamite lady. She was my grandma's sister.
I was glad to have her here on earth. I asked her once if she could share herself
and be a grandma to me, after grandma died (The original Martha Stewart-Barndollar)
She of course agreed. I think she was grandma to a lot of people, even those
not related. She always made you feel at home, but she didn't put up with any
bologna from anyone to my knowledge. She will be greatly missed.

Fond memories of Granny Crager at Clearfield Elementary. She always had a warm
smile and a hot meal waiting. Later years we became extended family when my
sister married her wonderful Grandson Tinsley. She welcomed family and frinds
into her home and hearts. I will take her stories and the way she lived life
into my heart and share with my children her legacy. Forever in my heart!
